Assembly Forum at Dominican University

At times it was a very heated debate over a wide range of issues. I voiced my concern about Michael Allen's bill that could increase food prices 25-50% and may put many farmers out of business. Also his getting over $800K from out of the area special interest and abandoning the people of Solano & Napa counties to take over Jared Huffman's old district.

My main goal is to find solutions for our mounting problems & Allen's main goal is to stay in power & keep the status quo.

Celebrating Earth Day

My wife and I visited the Santa Rosa Earth Day Fair last Sunday. It's always nice to meet people who care so much about the Earth and the need to protect it.

First Assembly Candidate Forum Held in Petaluma

Thank you to the Democratic Club of Southern Sonoma County for hosting Wednesday's candidate forum! These forums are a great way for voters to find out who their candidates are and what we stand on issues. I look forward to the next one.

Easter Egg hunt in Sausalito

Had a blast marching in the Easter Parade and watching the kids get their Easter eggs. Hope they didn't eat all their loot in one sitting! Photos by Alex Estrada.

Pension Reform - We Need Action

Last night’s pension reform forum in San Rafael was a great venue to learn more about the pension problem and the different sides of this issue. It is extremely hard to change the system since the system itself is rigged to make it easy to block any reform at all. Right now the unions have the upper hand. Out of 21 unions in the state, not a single one has endorsed Governor Jerry Brown’s reform plan. It’s hard to solve a problem when one side always says, “No.”

Remember, my opponent Michael Allen is primarily funded by unions. If he gets elected, there will be no real pension reform at all.
