What are your thoughts?

As a first time candidate my major goal is to find out the best way that I can help people. In the last few months I've spent a lot of time talking to our city and county administrators, police and fire chiefs and school superintendents to discover the best ways that I can help the people of Marin and Sonoma counties.

I've found that most of these folks want:

• More consistency in funding so they can plan better
• Less micromanagement- the people of Sonoma and Marin know how to run things better and more cost effectively than Sacramento
• They want Sacramento to walk its talk - if California wants improved test scores, then it needs to assist in the financial support of this goal
